The chairs are finished in a deep reddish-brown tone with subtle contrasting gilt-painted details highlighting the carved aprons and decorative elements.

Each chair features a broad solid seat framed by straight legs and stretchers, with pierced carving along the front and side aprons. The tall architectural backs incorporate geometric and scrolling motifs characteristic of traditional Chinese furniture design.

Structurally sound with general wear consistent with age and use, including marks, rubbing, scuffs and surface scratches. One chair is missing the small wood scroll moldings on either side of the upper back splat, as shown in the photographs.
