c. 1890s-1910s; Wooton Desk Co. - Indianapolis, Indiana
Quarter-sawn oak rotary office desk featuring Wooton's patented rotating pedestal design, allowing both drawer banks to swing outward for expanded access while maintaining a compact footprint when closed. The desk retains its original embossed black leather writing surface, three shallow frieze drawers with label holders, and paneled rotating pedestals fitted with cabinet doors concealing interior storage. The revolving construction increases the working width substantially, creating additional organization space without requiring a permanently oversized desk. A brass plaque reading "Wooton's Rotary Desk Patented" remains affixed to the front apron. With its practical engineering and high-quality oak construction, the design reflects the transition toward more efficient office furniture during the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
