a striking pair of f51 lounge chairs, designed by walter gropius and produced by tecta, germany. Originally conceived in 1920 for the director’s room of the bauhaus in weimar, the f51 is one of the most distinctive examples of early bauhaus furniture design. Its bold cubic geometry, generous upholstered volumes and remarkably architectural frame embody gropius’ radical approach to furniture as an extension of architecture.
