A stunning vintage bamboo and rattan bar dating from the mid-20th century, this highly decorative piece is distinguished by its sculptural structure, warm honey-toned patina, and vibrant red shelves.
This piece features an elegant openwork structure of natural bamboo and bent rattan, with numerous circular and looped supports integrated into the upper and lower sections. These unusual details lend the display a wonderfully natural, almost whimsical character.
A large woven rattan handle rises above the structure, emphasizing its sculptural silhouette and hinting at its original design as a serving piece or portable bar cabinet. Entirely handcrafted in France, it dates from the 1950s or 1960s and is typical of the Riviera style.
It can hold six bottles on the upper section and six bottles on the lower section. Two generously sized red-painted shelves provide a striking contrast to the natural bamboo. The upper level is surrounded by curved rattan balustrades and ring-shaped supports, while the lower level echoes this elaborate structure on a slightly smaller scale.
The decorative woven rattan fittings and hand-bent elements, found throughout, attest to the craftsmanship characteristic of French bamboo furniture of this period. The combination of natural bamboo, woven rattan, red surfaces with graphic patterns, and exuberant organic geometry makes it an exceptional decorative piece for a refined interior.
Equally appealing as a bar cart, aperitif trolley, display stand, or simply as a sculptural decorative object. Its patina is truly magnificent.
