Antique watchmaker's or jeweler's workbench featuring an extensive arrangement of small parts drawers, storage compartments, and a central work area designed for precision bench work. The bench is constructed from painted and varnished wood panels reinforced with original iron corner brackets.
Numerous graduated drawers provide organized storage for watch movements, springs, jewels, screws, tools, and other small components. A distinctive arched opening within the upper-left drawer bank likely provided convenient access to frequently used tools or materials. Additional drawers are arranged above and beneath the work surface, creating a highly functional storage system.
Mounted above the work area is an adjustable brass task lamp manufactured by Faries Manufacturing Company of Decatur, Illinois. The lamp retains its articulated arm and industrial dome shade, allowing focused illumination for detailed mechanical work. The lamp has been rewired and is reported to be in working order.
