Selling a vintage Siesta Low-Back Lounge Chair designed by Ingmar Relling for Westnofa, one of the most celebrated pieces of Scandanivian Mid-Century Modern design.
Norwegian architect Ingmar Relling, a towering figure in Scandinavian design, created the Siesta in 1965 with his son Knut. It won first prize from the Industry Council for Furniture that year, and later the Norwegian Design Council's Classic Award for Design Excellence in 1992.
Relling designed with sustainability and repairability in mind, and the chair remains in production today with Norwegian maker L.K. Hjelle. President Jimmy Carter famously bought sixteen for the White House.
In good vintage condition, the label is mostly gone and the two buttons on the seat have been replaced.
