Chimney Corners was the residence of Edmund Randolph, the first governor of Virginia, which was located in Tuckahoe, VA. Thomas Jefferson began his education at a school house on this property, a building that still stands to this day.

Leo Jiranek, known as the “Dean of Furniture Designers,” contributed to more furniture companies than any other known designer, among them Magnavox, Thomasville, Ethan Allen, Kroehler, Heywood Wakefield, Lane, Broyhill, Garrison, and Bassett.

This early American style dresser is made of solid maple with a rich honey tone finish. The top has an ogee edge above a band of dentil moulding. There are a total of 11 dovetail jointed drawers of varying sizes, each with brass pineapple motif pulls. The dresser stands on shaped bracket feet and is topped with a large framed mirror. The mid-20th century dresser and mirror are in good vintage condition. Both pieces are solid and very well made. All drawers slide smoothly. There is wear on the wood finish, including scratches, scuffs, water marks, and other signs of wear. The mirror is designed to be mounted to the dresser on metal rods. The hardware to hold the rods is intact, but the actual metal rods are missing. The mirror could also be hung on a wall. The dresser measures 62” long, 19” wide, and 34” tall. The mirror is 50.5” wide and 34.5” tall. See less
