A classic Federalist style mirror with an impressive sculptural form of a gilded eagle excited into flight that crowns the mirror. This "bulls-eye" mirror features the convex glass that would have been found in an original antique mirror of this style and period. The mirror features a black inner round frame which dramatically sets off the gilded decoration of the piece. Gold leaf ribbon decorations flanks the eagle at the top of the mirror and Acanthus leaf foliate decoration balances at the base of the mirror. All in all this mirror is a real showstopper that will be the focal point of any room -- and especially so over a fireplace!
This reproduction mirror was made by Carvers Guild and was used as a display piece in our high-end furniture and interior design showroom. The mirror was purchased new in the early 2000s and was never sold and was used as a sample to take orders from. As such the mirror is in excellent condition. Any small imperfections or mars are consistent with its use as a display piece in a furniture/interior design studio space.
