The dark lacquered ground is densely ornamented with gilt floral scrollwork, foliate arabesques, and small polychrome accents, creating the luminous, layered effect associated with Kashmiri naqashi decoration. The red-painted interior and aged gilt bands at the neck and foot further support placement within the Kashmiri papier-mache vessel tradition.
