'97 Good … Read more The Bridge is an original etching realized by the Italian master Bruno Croatto. Hand-signed on the lower right. '97 Good conditions except for some small rips and cutaways on the margin. The bridge is depicted in a well-balanced composition and reflects a classical taste, typical of this important Italian master of the XIX Century Bruno Croatto (Trieste, 1875 - Rome, 1948). Between 1891 and 1892 he became a pupil of Gabriel Hackl at the Munich Academy of Fine Arts but studied the Impressionists and the great masters of the Fifteenth century. He painted the figure, the landscapes and the flowers but his talent emerged in etchings and aquatints, in which, neglecting the drawing, he seeks only color and chiaroscuro effects. He exhibited in Monaco, Trieste, Paris, Venice, Rome, London, Prague and Vienna. In 1930, he held a personal exhibition at the ''Camera degli Artisti'' in Rome with more than 100 works among paintings and etchings. His works are preserved in the Prints Cabinet in the Corsini Museum in Rome, in Valle Giulia and in the Uffizi Gallery and in public collections in New York and England. One of his ''Still Life'' is preserved at the Modern Art Gallery in Milan. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
