The finish is painted … Read more A pair of solid pine English sideboards or buffets has been updated with colorful painted exteriors. The finish is painted in many layers, giving the impression of centuries old patinated paint. Their tops are made from single planks of pine with chamfered edges and a thin black border that gives the look of incised wood. Their simplistic design features three paneled doors with turned wood knobs that open to a vast and roomy interior. More painted details enhance the doors with impressions of architectural carvings. A single fixed shelf runs the length of the cabinet and is 19 ¼" deep, perfect for storing deep platters and otherwise bulkier items. Both cabinets sit on sturdy plinth bases. We believe this to be in good antique condition considering the age, and any visible signs of wear are captured in the photos.
