This large blown glass candle hurricane was created in Milton, West Virginia, between 1937 and the late 20th century. Blenko held the official license to reproduce these historic pieces for the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation.
At 18” high, it appears to be the model CW10 and features and thick, folded bottom rim which gave the hurricane stability.
Weighing over four pounds, this is an unusually heavy and beautifully made example—not the lightweight glass typically found in contemporary hurricane shades.
This piece creates a striking centerpiece for a buffet, entry or dining table. It can sit alone or on a brass candle plate.. imagine it surrounded by a ring of fresh blooms.
For reference, the candle shown is 6”h.
