The tall architectural form rises from a flared circular foot supported visually by three sculptural gilt buttresses. The pale blue body is modeled with organic foliate ornament, raised geometric details, and a gently mottled glaze, while the upper section is encircled by an exceptionally decorative pierced green band framed in gold.
Above the openwork band, the vase terminates in a sculptural flower-like mouth with an undulating gilt rim. Gilded scroll elements, raised cabochon-like details, and applied ornament continue throughout the design, creating a characteristic Amphora combination of structure, texture, and highly decorative surface treatment.
The underside bears the impressed Imperial Amphora Turn mark, crown, Amphora and Austria marks, together with form number 12004 and press number 56. Closely related Amphora forms from this numerical series are documented around 1900 with similar pierced construction, blue-green glazing, and gilt decoration.
Produced during Amphora’s celebrated Turn-Teplitz period, the vase exemplifies the factory’s adventurous approach to Jugendstil design, combining naturalistic Art Nouveau motifs with complex molded and pierced ceramic construction.
