The shield on the lid has an inscription in German with the date 1706. The exquisitely embossed design features a tailor sitting in the window of his shop sewing. There is a coat hung below the window and pressing irons with large scissors below the shutters. The three feet of the stein are formed by angelic winged young cherubs. A very unusual handcrafted item.

The pitcher measures about 14 inches tall and about 6 1/2 inches in diameter at the base.
