I set her … Read more Little Fox is hand carved natural, dark, charcoal grey, almost black, Soapstone and signed by the artist. I set her eyes with natural Smoky Quartz to give them a little bling and to engage the viewer.
The vintage box is Biedermeier in design and the wood is a beautiful Birds Eye Maple veneer. Birds Eye Maple is extremely rare and unique in its formation. Box is in excellent condition with a few signs of wear to the inside lip and back. Front facing is flawless and box is highly glossed. I brought these 2 rare and one of a kind little works of art together creating a one of a kind Art Box.
Box is 5x5 with a depth of 3 inches excluding the little fox.
Fox meaning: figuratively, a clever, cunning, or attractive person. Foxes have had several meanings throughout culture and history. One I particularly like; The fox's portrayal in Celtic mythology stands as a testament to the allure of transformation and the dance between worlds. Also, another favorite fox tale of mine is the one in the novella "The little Prince" by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. The very wise fox teaches the little prince some of what is truly important in life.
We have a great love for these little beasties and a heart full of compassion for their treatment throughout history.
