Each jar carries a dense, all-over floral scroll in rich cobalt blue, so tightly worked it reads almost as texture from across a room, broken by a bold central medallion where the character Shuang Xi, doubled happiness, sits in reserve. It's one of the most recognizable motifs in Chinese decorative porcelain, traditionally painted onto wedding gifts and household wares as a wish for a marriage's joy to double rather than divide. Domed lids echo the same floral scrollwork down to a small finial, and the unglazed footring on each jar shows the honest, slightly grainy stoneware body underneath the glaze, proof of hand-thrown, hand-painted production rather than a slip-cast shortcut.
