a striking vintage oxford chair designed by arne jacobsen for fritz hansen, dating from the 1960s. An important example of danish modernist design, the chair is distinguished by its exceptionally high, elegantly curved back and beautifully sculptural silhouette.

the chair is upholstered in a warm ivory / cream-coloured material, complemented by polished metal arm supports and a substantial five-star swivel base. The sweeping upholstered shell rises dramatically from the seat, creating both a sense of privacy and an imposing architectural presence, while the gently curved seat provides a surprisingly comfortable and supportive position.

particularly beautiful are the chair's open, angular armrests, which contrast with the softness of the upholstered shell and emphasise jacobsen's characteristic combination of organic curves and precise geometry. The polished metal base further reinforces its distinctly scandinavian aesthetic.
