created in murano in 2011, the piece is defined by a deliberately restrained form: a generous, almost spherical body gradually narrows toward a short open neck, allowing the color, transparency and optical qualities of the hand-blown glass to become the principal elements of the design.
the deep ruby-red glass responds markedly to changing light. Under natural illumination, the thinner areas become luminous and translucent, while the greater concentration of glass through the body produces deeper crimson tones and subtle internal variations.
particularly distinctive is the suspension system. A dark metal fitting at the opening connects the glass body to an unusually long natural hemp cord measuring approximately 177 cm. The contrast between the polished murano glass and the coarse natural fibre introduces a strong material tension to the otherwise minimal composition.
with a glass body measuring 25 cm in height, the piece has considerably greater presence than a conventional hanging ornament and can be read as a suspended decorative object or glass sculpture. The extended cord further emphasizes its vertical presentation when suspended.
the piece is hand-signed and dated “nasonmoretti murano 2011” close to the opening. Its original nasonmoretti presentation box, bearing the company’s repeating graphic motif, is preserved and accompanies the piece.
condition: very good condition overall, with no cracks or structural damage. A minute chip is present at the rim adjacent to the metal suspension fitting. It is visible only upon close inspection and does not affect the structural integrity or overall presentation of the piece. No other chips or evident damage are present. this piece has an attribution mark,
