At approximately 62 inches high and 66 inches wide, this is an unusually substantial piece with the presence of a major decorative furnishing rather than a standard writing desk.

The front features a large curved writing section decorated with vivid Chinoiserie-inspired floral, musical, and ornamental motifs in warm orange, red, and gold tones against a deep black ground. The contrast is striking and gives the piece a richly layered European-meets-Asian decorative character associated with luxury interiors of the 18th-century-inspired Rococo tradition.

The upper gallery is framed with intricate gilt ornament, urn-form finials, pierced rail detailing, and sculptural female figures at the corners. Additional figural mounts continue down the sides, while floral decoration and gilded accents extend throughout the lower cabinetry.

When opened, the curved front reveals a generous drop-front writing surface finished in the same dramatic black, orange, and gold palette. The interior includes multiple storage compartments and cubbies, providing practical organization for stationery, documents, writing accessories, or decorative objects. The richly decorated interior continues the ornate character of the exterior, making the piece equally impressive open or closed.
