A stunning, quintessential pair of vintage Royal Crown Derby fine bone china candlesticks in the highly coveted and discontinued "Red Aves" (A.74) pattern.
Inspired by a historic 18th-century embroidery design, this pattern features exquisitely detailed, hand-painted crimson avian motifs nestled among lush foliage, accompanied by fine hand-applied 22-karat gold trailing accents and gilded rims. This particular pair features the elegant, heavily molded square base elevated by ornate, stylized dolphin accents at each corner.
According to the explicit Royal Crown Derby Roman numeral date cypher (XXXIV) stamped on the underside, this pair was meticulously crafted in England in 1981.
