Constructed in an architectural square form with round … Read more This large-scale vintage brass jardinière or cachepot dates to approximately the 1970s. Constructed in an architectural square form with round brass ring handles mounted at either side and a clean raised rim.

Measuring an impressive 14 inches square and 14.25 inches high and weighing approximately 9 pounds, this is a notably substantial example with considerably more presence than the typical lightweight vintage brass planter.

The brass has been intentionally left with its wonderful naturally developed surface, displaying layers of warm bronze, muted gold, brown and touches of verdigris that give the minimalist form exceptional character. Particularly handsome used as a floor planter for a large indoor tree, although its generous size also lends itself beautifully to firewood, magazines or decorative storage.
We like it to house a Christmas tree as well.
