Modernist writing desk with a rectangular teak top and case, featuring two handleless drawer fronts. Simple black-painted metal frame. Made in Europe, 1960s.
European-made writing desk from the 1960s, characterized by the contrast between the compact teak volume and the slender black-painted metal frame. The rectangular case features two side-by-side drawers, with completely smooth, handleless fronts, a solution that maintains the continuity of the wooden surface and accentuates the geometric rigor of the design. The top features slightly beveled edges and a regular grain. The base is made of square-section metal profiles, with two vertical uprights connected by a lower crosspiece and trapezoidal bases. The shaped joints under the case are a further construction detail and visually emphasize the separation between the wooden part and the metal support. A writing desk with a simple design, reminiscent of 1960s European modernism. Good condition. May show signs of wear. Please refer to the photographs carefully.
