Pair of armchairs with a chromed tubular steel frame, gray velvet tufted padding, and front casters. Scandinavian production, 1970s.
The chromed tubular steel frame envelops the seat and backrest, remaining entirely visible and becoming an essential part of the design. The ample gray velvet padding is enhanced by a deep tufted finish, which is also repeated on the armrests, while the small front casters add a distinctive functional detail. The interplay between the continuous metal line and the softness of the upholstery places these armchairs in the Scandinavian design of the 1970s, marked by more enveloping and informal shapes and a new interest in materials with a strong tactile presence.
