Teak dressing table with integrated hinged mirror and frame with contoured sides. Scandinavian production, 1960s.
The dressing table is built around a balanced balance between function and formal lightness. Likely European production. As with many Scandinavian designs from the 1960s, the top features a 35 x 41 cm hinged mirror. When opened, it transforms the piece into a practical dressing table, while when closed, it provides a continuous and perfectly flush surface. The frame, defined by two contoured sides joined by a lower crosspiece, is the most distinctive element of the design. The continuity of the lines, the precision of the joints, and the contoured edge of the mirror, designed to discreetly double as a handle when opening, recall the design language developed in Denmark by designers such as Arne Hovmand-Olsen, Johannes Andersen, and Kai Kristiansen, in which the quality of the furniture is expressed through construction and attention to detail rather than through decoration. Good condition. It may show signs of aging. Please pay close attention to the photographs.
