The bold, … Read more A 1970s space age lounge chair with a bentwood shell lacquered white and three original beige velvet cushions. The bold, enveloping form recalls the work of mario bellini in the same years. What makes it work is the meeting of the two materials, hard white shell against soft warm velvet, and it is that contrast which keeps the piece feeling timeless rather than dated. It runs on small castors, all perfectly functional, and the comfort is exceptional. A nice detail: the castors are stamped kenrick minimeteor, english hardware of the period.
