A matching pair of teak lounge chairs produced by Komfort and made in Denmark in the 1960s. The plate is still in place under the frame - komfort, His Majesty King Frederik IX's Award for Excellence in Export, Danish Furnituremakers' Quality Control, Made in Denmark - so the maker is certain.
The sledge base and the sculpted arms give them a silhouette you recognise across a room: fluid and structured at once. The seats hold you properly and are genuinely comfortable for everyday use.
Sold as a pair, and that is how they are worth having: a matched pair of labelled Danish sledge-base chairs is considerably harder to find than a single one, and two of them hold a room in a way one cannot.
One honest note: on one of the two there is a small tear in the fabric beneath the seat, invisible once the cushions are in place and with no effect on the structure. This piece has an attribution mark,
