Hand-blown using the sommerso technique, the bowl combines transparent glass with a strongly defined blue inner layer. Its geometric, faceted octagonal exterior tapers towards a compact square base, contrasting the angular outer profile with the smoothly formed recessed bowl. The polished facets catch and refract the blue glass from different angles, giving the piece a distinctly sculptural mid-century modern character. The original glass stamper is also preserved, formed in coordinating blue glass and designed to rest within the bowl. Together, the two elements create a particularly graphic composition, characteristic of postwar italian art glass in its combination of saturated color, substantial clear glass and precise geometric cutting. Condition is very good. The edges and corners remain in particularly good order with no chips. There are a few hairline scratches to the top and light surface wear and scratches consistent with age. No known restoration or repairs. Dimensions: 6 cm h × 12 cm w × 10 cm d / 2.36 in h × 4.72 in w × 3.94 in d. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
