this decorative plate features a lively, modern painting with an almost abstract face as its central theme. Large stylised eyes, red lips, a long yellow nose, geometric shapes, circles and free brushstrokes move playfully across the surface. The colours red, green, blue, yellow, black and soft grey create a strong graphic presence.

the work has a clearly picasso-like and modernist feel, while still remaining connected to the expressive ceramic tradition of seminara. The artist’s hand is clearly visible in the spontaneous lines, the relief of the paint and the energetic composition.
