The distinctive feature of this lamp is its chrome-plated star base made of square rods, which is virtually unsurpassed in its simplicity and understated elegance. The rods are raised from the floor by small feet with a gap. Another special feature is the flat, square shade, which sits atop a slender, solid shaft. The shade can be moved up and down the shaft, influencing the lamp's appearance and the lighting effect in the room. The height is fixed with a simple lever. The light is primarily directed downwards. The top, except for a gap around the perimeter, is covered by a square, translucent acrylic diffuser. The shade still has its original parchment covering and shows clear signs of corrosion from the metal frame. The diffuser has been replaced, matching the original.

The lamp is in very good condition with signs of use and some noticeable patina.
