Masterfully designed by renowned ceramicist Peggy Davies and produced between 1941 and 1985, this delightful miniature animal study captures a tabby kitten resting peacefully on its side/back with its delicate paws tucked under its chest. The naturalistic modeling features hand-painted glossy dark brown and soft tan tortoiseshell-tabby striping layered over a bright white porcelain ground. The expert glaze yields a smooth, lustrous, high-shine finish that beautifully catches the light. The underside is fully marked with the official green printed Royal Doulton backstamp featuring the traditional lion, crown, and roundel reading "Made in England - Bone China". It is accompanied by the hand-painted model registry number HN 2579 alongside original artisan marking dots, confirming its direct lineage from the legendary Burslem factory. I love its little smushy face. See less
