Although not an … Read more A spectacular assembled Victorian silver-plated tea and coffee service featuring five complementary pieces collected from different makers. Although not an original matched set, the pieces coordinate beautifully through their ornate floral repoussé decoration, scrolling handles, graceful spouts and richly detailed finials.

The collection includes an elaborately decorated hot-water kettle on stand, a second kettle on stand, a tall coffee pot, a teapot and an open sugar bowl. The grand scale of the two kettles gives the grouping exceptional presence and makes it particularly striking displayed on a dining-room sideboard, buffet or large serving tray.

Various impressed manufacturer’s marks, pseudo-hallmarks and pattern numbers appear on the undersides, consistent with antique silver-plated hollowware of the period. The pieces have been polished and display a beautiful, luminous finish.

An impressive and highly decorative collected service with wonderful Victorian character—equally appealing for entertaining, display or use as an elegant grouping of vessels filled with flowers.
