19th century Danish column cabinet, crafted in mahogany veneer with an elegant narrow form. Two turned columns flank the convex door, which bows outward and adds graceful dimension to the cabinet. An upper and lower drawer provide additional storage above and below the central cabinet.
The single door and both drawers open using the same included key. The cabinet interior contains two standard shelves along with a smaller curved upper notched shelf that was traditionally used for displaying silver spoons or serving utensils. Its narrow proportions and interior shelving also make the cabinet well suited for use as a liquor cabinet or compact display and storage piece.
Age related separation is visible along the edges of the top and across seams where planks meet. Earlier repairs in this area have developed some crackling with age. The upper front right corner of the crown has two nicks with areas of missing veneer. Additional small nicks and dings are visible along the trim, with cracking along the sides and more noticeable age related separation along the back that presents as a crack. These signs of age do not impact function.
Restored, elegant, and ready to use.
