The tripod frame carries crossed X-stretchers, slender legs, and pad feet.

I refinished the brass framework in my atelier with a multi-step distressed gold leaf application. The process starts with a hand-gilded base layer, then multilayered stains built up to settle into the recesses and add depth. I finished the metalwork with hand-applied fly speckling and an antiqued stained gold patina.

The inset black glass top contrasts against the bright gold frame. It works as a French guéridon statement piece with Hollywood Regency appeal.
