An original multi-color stone lithograph titled "Fisherman" by listed artist Emil Weddige (1907–2001), executed in figurative abstraction with heavy structural linework and layered color planes. Pencil-signed and titled by the artist.

Artist Background:
Emil Weddige was a pioneering 20th-century printmaker and longtime Professor of Art at the University of Michigan (1937–1974). He studied at the Art Students League in New York and maintained working studios in both Ann Arbor and Montparnasse, Paris. Widely recognized for reviving fine art stone lithography in North America, his prints are held in permanent museum collections including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the National Gallery of Art, and the Smithsonian Institution.

- Good vintage condition. The lithograph image is clean with strong, intact color saturation. The color at the top is more … moreGood vintage condition. The lithograph image is clean with strong, intact color saturation. The color at the top is more saturated than it appears due to reflection off the glass (see the black matt for comparison of the top and bottom). The outer mat exhibits age-consistent toning. Frame is structurally sound with some edge wear; the paper dust cover on the reverse shows historic water staining, but the artwork itself appears to be unaffected. There is no scent of mildew or other indication of any mold damage. less
