A sculptural pair of French mid‑century armchairs designed by Janine Abraham and Dirk Jan Rol, crafted in rattan with black lacquered metal bases. Each chair features a circular, open‑weave seat formed by radiating rattan rods that create a striking sunburst pattern. The airy structure and organic curvature exemplify the designers’ mastery of natural materials and their modernist approach to comfort and form.
The warm patina of the rattan contrasts beautifully with the minimalist metal frame, balancing rustic texture and refined geometry. These chairs embody the optimism and craftsmanship of 1960s French design; light, elegant, and timelessly modern. I have official proof of authenticity such as vintage catalogs,
