Standing 31 inches tall, the slender pedestal combines rounded bamboo uprights, tightly woven rattan panels and handsome herringbone-patterned cane detailing for an unusually textural and architectural take on traditional wicker furniture.

The square 11" × 11" top rests above a flared woven-rattan apron, while the splayed base echoes its form below. The result is almost a classical pedestal rendered in bamboo and cane—light in appearance but substantial enough to hold a favorite fern, cachepot, ceramic urn or decorative object.

Its combination of bamboo, wicker, saturated color and relaxed patina recalls the layered interiors of Sister Parish, with affinities to the collected decorating of Mario Buatta and Billy Baldwin. It would be particularly at home in a Palm Beach, Chinoiserie, British Colonial, traditional, coastal or maximalist interior, where its vivid red finish can serve as an unexpected punctuation of color.
