Offered is a vintage set of 1980s African hand-carved and chiseled chess pieces. There are 16 of each of the ebonized and natural matte-polished wood pieces, totaling 32 - likely made in either Ghana or Kenya. The set has been paired with a vintage boxwood board lined with brown felt inside that has a magnetized closure.
The box measures 15.325" long, 7.875" wide, 2" deep when closed, and 15.25" x 15.75" x 1" deep when opened.
The pieces measure 1.875" H pawns) to 5" H (kings), and have bases that measure approximately 1" square.
