The broad asymmetric form is centred establishing its function as a purpose-made vessel for Ikebana floral arrangement.

The upper surface is modelled with deeply rippled concentric ridges that create a flowing, topographical effect across the low horizontal form. An irregular central opening provides the focal point for branches, stems and floral compositions, while the raised circular foot lifts the vessel slightly above the display surface and reinforces its sculptural profile.

At 13.5 inches wide and four pounds, the piece has considerable decorative presence. Its combination of hand-worked ceramic construction, and dramatic Organic Modern surface treatment makes it equally compelling as a functional floral-arranging vessel or standalone sculptural ceramic object.
