Their deliberately irregular, heavily textured surfaces evoke natural coquina stone, giving the pair the visual weight of carved architectural elements. The chunky proportions and exaggerated twisting forms are characteristic of late-1980s Postmodern / Palm Beach Modern design and closely relate to the organic, stone-inspired aesthetic associated with California designer Michael Taylor.

At 15 inches tall, these are unusually substantial candlesticks with enough scale to anchor a mantel, console or dining table. Their pale neutral finish allows the dramatic silhouettes to work equally well in contemporary, coastal, Organic Modern and eclectic interiors.

Each candlestick retains its impressed Bon Art maker’s mark and 1988 copyright date. Sold as a pair. See less
