Design Plus Gallery presents a Vintage Hand-Carved Solid Wood Horse and Rider Sculpture, circa 2004. This large-scale sculptural work depicts a rider seated upon a stylized horse, rendered with exaggerated proportions, curled tail detailing, carved facial elements, and decorative turned legs Hand-carved by an artisan in Bali, the sculpture has a bohemian character and an intentionally distressed whitewashed surface that reveals areas of the natural wood beneath. Incised markings, carved ornamentation, and irregular textural variations emphasize its handmade construction. The sculpture is constructed in five separate pieces, allowing the components to be assembled as shown. The piece displays visible distress, surface wear, abrasions, and variations consistent with its hand-carved character and age. It is in good condition with visible and minimal wear from usage. Made in Bali, Indonesia.
