Founded in New York City in 1904, The Explorers Club has long been associated with exploration and scientific discovery. Its members have included Robert Peary, Roald Amundsen, Sir Edmund Hillary, Tenzing Norgay, and the Apollo astronauts. Designed by founding member Frederick S. Dellenbaugh, the Club’s distinctive flag became an emblem of its expeditions, with official examples carried to the North and South Poles, the summit of Mount Everest, and the Moon.
