A charming antique color print depicting an elegant young woman in the romantic tradition of 18th-century portraiture.

Shown in three-quarter view against a softly muted blue-gray background, the sitter wears her abundant curled hair swept upward, accented by a long drop earring and loosely draped white fabric around her shoulders.

The delicate palette of pearl gray, pale blue, soft pink, and white gives the image an especially graceful and atmospheric quality, while the sitter's hairstyle and costume evoke the refined elegance of the Louis XVI period.

The portrait is surrounded by an attractive printed Neoclassical-style decorative border in warm ochre and red tones, giving the sheet considerable decorative presence.
