This is a pair of beautifully framed antique botanical prints, each with paperwork explaining the image, originally offered by Ethan Allen. Both are in excellent antique condition, with the marbeled mats in great condition and frames showing some evidence of wear.
One image shows an antique botanical plate of Thalictrum alpinum (Alpine meadow-rue) illustrated by J. Curtis from Curtis's Botanical Magazine published in 1821 (plate number 2237).
The other image is Plate LXXXVI: Viloa arborescens, L. from John Traherne Moggridge's work "Contributions to the Flora of Mentone and to a Winter Flora of the Riviera," published around 1871. Moggridge was an English botanist and entomologist who famously documented the wild flora of the Mediterranean coast along the south of France while staying there for his health.
Both botanical prints come with (what appear to be) the original papers explaining the images in the plate.
