The plate features a beautiful mottled blue, slate grey and smoky celadon-toned glaze with an organic, almost stone-like appearance. The subtle variation in the glaze gives the surface considerable depth and makes each area of the plate visually unique. The gently irregular form and richly layered glaze give the piece a distinctly artisanal character, making it equally appealing as collectible Italian ceramics or as a decorative accent for a wall, shelf or tabletop. The reverse retains two original labels: “Produzione Ceramica Cierre – Torre del Greco Italy” and “Designer Fabrizio Simone” An impressed maker’s mark is also present on the underside.
