An elegant vintage Colonial Revival highboy featuring beautifully figured maple drawer fronts and classic Chippendale-inspired details. The tall chest-on-stand form is crowned by a dramatic broken-arch pediment with central carved finial and accented by carved fan motifs, cabriole legs and traditional brass batwing pulls.
The case offers generous storage with multiple graduated drawers, including smaller drawers incorporated into the lower section. Traditional dovetail joinery and substantial construction speak to the quality of the piece.
The warm figured maple has particularly attractive movement and character across the drawer fronts, while the darker contrasting case elements give the highboy wonderful depth. At 77 inches tall, it has an impressive architectural presence without an excessively large footprint.
No visible maker’s mark or label was found. A beautifully constructed and highly decorative example of American Colonial Revival furniture.
