A beautifully rustic and incredibly heavy 18th-century European pewter deep serving platter or charger. Sourced directly from Northern Italy, this 14.25-inch platter represents a substantial example of traditional trans-Alpine craftsmanship, weighing an impressive 1,659 grams.

The reverse rim features a magnificent set of period ownership initials ("S : B") executed in classic alpine "wiggle-work" (tremolierstich). This historic technique was achieved by meticulously rocking a small flat chisel across the surface to produce a beautiful, decorative zig-zag ribbon engraving.

The front of the charger features a simple turned-rim border framing a deep well that is heavily adorned with hundreds of authentic, historic utensil knife marks—testament to its extensive culinary use across generations of estate banquets. Unpolished and completely untouched, it boasts an incredible matte gray and charcoal antiquarian patina that accentuates its immense weight and historical integrity.
