The substantial cast-iron construction gives these small cups a wonderful weight, while the textured red finish is accented with dark detailing that emphasizes the molded designs.

Each cup rests on an unusually shaped cast-iron saucer decorated with concentric rings and a large stylized dragonfly. The cups feature raised dragon and cloud motifs and glossy black enameled interiors. This is a distinctive late-20th-century Japanese tea set that works equally well for serving sake or tea, displayed with an Asian ceramics collection, or styled on a bar or tea table.
