Rare and early Scandinavian Mid-Century Modern open arm chair in dark stained beech. Designed by Magnus Stephensen in the 1930s and manufactured by Fritz Hansen, Denmark.
Underside of chair has both the FH stamp and the original paper label with production year (1942).

Comfortable wide seat and curved backrest. These elegant and understated pieces of bentwood furniture are typical for the early Danish Modernist era. Great design profile with gentle curves and rustic appearance.

Good stable construction. Some shrinkage due to dry conditions. All joints are firm. Otherwise normal wear consistent with age and use. Cleaned, reglued and polished, ready for use. This piece has an attribution mark,
