A genuine vintage rocker from FMG (Fabryki Mebli Giętych), the Polish manufacturer known for producing classic Thonet-pattern bentwood furniture through the mid to late 20th century. This example carries the original FMG paper label and maker's stamp on the frame, confirming its authenticity.
The ebonized bentwood frame is built in the iconic Thonet silhouette: swooping steam-bent arms, an elaborate double-scroll base, an oval cane back, and a hand-caned seat. It has real presence in a room and rocks with a smooth, comfortable motion.
Original condition throughout, with light wear consistent with age, including some surface scuffing to the black lacquer finish. The hand-caning on both the seat and back is tight and intact, with no sagging, breaks, or repairs.
Markings: FMG paper label and maker's stamp present on frame.
