Based on an … Read more A striking late 20th-century blue and white ceramic plate by Mottahedeh from the discontinued Greek Revival pattern. Based on an English circa-1810 design, the decoration combines classical figures, Greek key borders, scrolling foliage, and a central neoclassical scene rendered in crisp cobalt blue against a crisp white ground.

The unusually elaborate border gives the plate the presence of a decorative object rather than everyday dinnerware. At 10.5 inches across, it is beautifully scaled for wall display, a plate rack, or a library shelf layered among books, architectural fragments, and other Grand Tour-inspired pieces.
